On desktop use Helium or Trivalent and on mobile use Vanadium :3

My money for greatest amount of sLOC run would be either JS (incl TS), C, or C++
November 11, 2025 at 3:56 AM
Also not many applications are written in platform-specific assembly, this is presumably about source LOC not instruction count

There's more arm devices than x86

as it's actually a great way to learn and understand how executable files can work under-the-hood! www.conradk.com/elf-from-scr...
ELF from scratch
Join me as I dive deep into understanding the ELF, binary file format for Linux, BSD and others. Find out about its structure, components and my journey to learn more about assembly programming.

Well that's not really how writing executable files work, only the disk stores sectors in "1s and 0s" (although those are just arithmetic representations we use to understand how binary disk formats work). While it is highly platform dependent, I would recommend studying how ELF files work on Linux,

(am I taking your joke and being overly pedantic with it? maybe.)
November 10, 2025 at 4:19 AM
Since the former is technically possible but wouldn't really be considered "writing binary" but rather "writing a binary executable", and the latter would be practically impossible but would be closer to "writing binary"
November 10, 2025 at 4:17 AM
Wdym by "binary"? Like writing executable symbols by hand, or literally flipping bytes in sectors on your disk partition to "create" an executable file?
November 10, 2025 at 4:16 AM
The solution to this is to write in x86_64 assembly
