I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t one of those kids that would sneak watch the Jerry Springer show when I was home sick from school. I've watched a lot of of the documentaries that Netflix has produced.

We really do have it better today, overall.
I'm pretty sure every single person who ran in fansub circles got fucked in a tape acquisition at some point or another - whether it was a trader who took the money and ran, or a trader who sent a blank tape back SUPER fast.

1990s Macross 7 fansub flashback! I literally mailed physical money orders to places like Kodocha and Acefly and they would mail me back VHS fansubs exactly like this. This is how we got anime that wasn't officially translated back in those days. We have it so much better today.

So in the same vein as gratitude journaling I’ve decided to do “self credit” journaling where I write down 3+ things to give myself credit for every day.✌🏻 Examples: cooked a meal, challenged my negative self talk, loved my cats, stopped an obsessive behavior/thought cycle, hung out with a friend etc
