このキャリア段階になると仕事関連のことはだいたい道義的な守秘義務により書けないのでSNS投稿に味気がなくなりがち。

自分がやってるタイプの社会学はデータと深いドメイン知識(から生まれる問い)で勝負することが多いので、計量分析の技法で勝負しようとした瞬間に他分野との競争の中での「負け」が見えきてしまうと思っている。

今学期、実は人生初めて救急車で緊急搬送されるエピソードがあったんだけど、死ぬ時はこういうかんじで予想しない場所で予想しない展開なんだろうなとは思った。

実は日本の学会で対面口頭報告するのはじめてなんだが、いきなり50分の長丁場で、ちょっと緊張する。

仕事が全般的に忙しくはなるものの、「建学の精神」的なシンボリックな価値を大事にしていく姿勢は大切だとは思う。それがなければ国立大に対する存在意義が薄いし、差別化は難しい。

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

学期後半始まる。月曜は、(採点まだだけど)700人授業が終了して、10人2コマ連続の講義に切り替わる。2コマ連続に変えて学期後半にするの意外と良い気がしている。
