The world feels upside down,
louder by the minute,
and stacked against the good.
But you’re still here—
heart steady, spine intact.
That’s not nothing.
That’s how revolutions begin.

Behold: you’ve survived another morning.
Put on pants if you must.
Eat something shaped like a circle.
Go confuse the world
by being exactly yourself.

I want you unafraid—
every laugh, every curve, every yes
a hymn to how good it feels
to want and be wanted
without apology.

Your hair still smells like sleep.
I press my hand to your hip,
just to feel you lean into it—
like a question
I already know the answer to.

July 4th.

The grills are hot,
the beer is cold,
and nobody’s talking about yesterday.
Funny how freedom still throws a party
the morning after it signs itself away.

It’s harder now, sure—
to speak and not sound like
you’re drowning others out.
But hard isn’t the same as unfair,
and decency doesn’t cost
as much as you keep telling yourself it does.

The bar is low.
Trip over it if you must—
at least that’s forward motion.
Call it progress.
Dare anyone to argue.

Some hearts are built like gardens—
room for more than one bloom,
each with its own sun,
its own season,
and no need to wither for the others to thrive.

We texted all day,
shared memes,
trauma-dumped at midnight—
then said we weren’t that close.
Just modern romance:
intimacy without eye contact.

The dishes again,
the same old walk,
but the light hit the sink just right—
and suddenly,
it all felt like living.

My latest, Pocket Ghosts, is available for free on Kindle for a few days. Snag a copy, say something nice...or petty, whatever. a.co/d/hUXh2kO

My latest release, Pocket Ghosts, is free on Kindle for a few days. Check it out, and if you feel so inclined to leave a nice comment about it, I'd be much obliged. I hate this. a.co/d/agynDGL

Rain tapping like it knows something I don’t.
I’ve been sad all day for no good reason,
and tired for every one I can’t say out loud.
Still—
I’m letting the gloom sit with me
instead of fighting it off.

They did it in daylight—
no masks, no shame, no clever code.
Just cruelty,
so loud and blatant
we mistook it for satire.
Truth isn’t stranger than fiction—
just easier to scroll past.

Some days I am all questions,
no answers,
but still—
the sun shows up,
and so do I.

Apparently using em dashes and ellipses makes me an AI impostor now.
God forbid a human likes rhythm and breath.
Every community eventually devours itself—just give it time and a stupid enough excuse.
Also, anti-AI sentiment is ableism and elitism and gatekeeping at its worst, FWIW.

They say don’t air your dirty laundry.
But this is poetry.
I wash it slow. I hang it high.
I hope the neighbors read every line.

I asked my anxiety if we could take a day off.
It laughed, checked its calendar,
then penciled in a panic attack
just to remind me
who’s really in charge of the schedule.

Just made my first official sale—a paperback copy of Fine, Probably… Someone out there chose my words, and I’m stunned and grateful. All my books are on Amazon & Kindle (yes, even Unlimited). If you’ve read one—thank you. If not, I’m here when you’re ready.
