i love "3d secure", nothing says security like iframing bank pages making it look like you're being phished and getting people used to typing in their bank credentials outside of the bank domain so they can be phished easier

finally got it working, the voodoo ceremony of turning clocks and the peripherial on and off must apparently be done perfectly (in an undocumented order) for it to work. i'm still not sure what i changed to make it start working

it's autumn again and i'm annoyed again, here's a raw picture vs basic white rebalance that looks at least somewhat close to what i saw irl, i think they genuinely their engineers have never seen fall irl. how unenviable!

rca: since the system was thrashing hard, a bunch of services timed out their dbus requests (????), including systemd-logind, which then restarted, took the seats for itself, causing Xorg to exit and take down everything with it. also broke my display manager somehow
