You're not responding to the point - the outsourcing of US manufacturing was a conscious effort by US companies to increase their bottom line. The push to outsource began in 1981 under Reagonomics and the lifting of regulations on manufacturing.

It's now applying to service industries as well - think your tax returns are actually being done by the large accounting firms you're hiring? Many are outsourced to India or the Phillippines for pennies on the dollar and marked up by the firms.

I'm not sure I understand your comment - international outsourcing was created during the Reagan era for US companies to increase their bottom line by paying less for domestic labor and parts. Basically killed domestic manufacturing. Are you saying that didn't happen?

I've had numerous tax clients receive notification that returns had been filed using their SSNs. Haven't seen this many in at least 5 years

What's really sad about this is the states that will suffer the most are those without the tax base and income to protect themselves. If CA & NY didn't ay into the Fed system to help LA & KY, we prob wouldn't need much help from FEMA but LA & KY would disappear
