I’m just glad you too get the “marketing help” emails.
“Your book looks so fascinating! You could really benefit from a bigger audience.” Or whatever ChatGPT mess they come up with, lol.

Idk though. 46 is a lot. Maybe you should consider it. 😂

Ahahaha

Haha dankeschön 😊
And yes it was excellent, I love that the internet is basically forever 😂
June 13, 2025 at 12:27 PM
Ahahaha oh probably

Honestly, for creative-control reasons, I skipped all that and went straight to self-pub (other than flash fiction). No regrets, nothing wrong w/my books (unless you count that they need a warning for being addictive 😂). I might query my next project, but at this point I have thick skin. Many don’t.

I randomly came across your post but hahahaha this is gold.
June 13, 2025 at 9:41 AM
Exactly - and random thought; it’s amazing to me how much stuff gets advertised and sold on the basis of “your fault, not the system.”
June 13, 2025 at 9:40 AM
That’s my understanding yeah - and idk I wouldn’t want to work with someone who is saying “There’s something wrong with your book.” How about “How can we think about this differently?”
June 13, 2025 at 9:33 AM
lol that’s like saying “if you don’t get an interview there something wrong with you despite the hundreds-of-people-applying thing, stop trying.”
June 13, 2025 at 9:25 AM
Wait, who doesn’t like copyright? Seriously?
June 13, 2025 at 7:57 AM
Genau 😂

The umlaut thing was funny and now that I speak German it’s funny in a different way 😂. It sounds so weird in my head 😂

I’m looking it up right now. T-glottalization, for example - I tend toward a glottal stop rather than a hidden release of air, from what I can tell. I speak American English, sometimes more enunciated than others. My “normal” speech (grew up in a rural area) is pretty unreleased, if that’s a term.
April 20, 2025 at 2:01 PM
Wait, I don’t think I do that in English? If I’m overenunciating a word, yes, but normally, no, not that I can tell.

I want to write a super fun treasure quest! Right now mine is historical fiction but it feels too “real.” I want more of a “rollicking adventure” type of story haha.
April 19, 2025 at 8:46 PM
Oh wow you didn’t??
I loved Treasure Island as a kid. I am working on a pirates story. But I might write more of a fantasy-esque one.
April 19, 2025 at 11:54 AM
The kid in me desperately loves the cover art.
The adult me, same haha.
April 19, 2025 at 11:45 AM
I really hope you’re writing something like this 😂
April 19, 2025 at 11:42 AM
That title 😂
April 19, 2025 at 10:10 AM
(In addition to many of the reasons you listed. It has to feel like the character. And yes I saw your second post before your original one so was responding without that context.)
