Keep in mind, that the GPU (PICA200) with a maximum clock speed of 400 MHZ didnt get changed between the generations, this was straight, raw, cpu grunt being shown.

Considering the Spec Difference between the normal and "new" 3/2DS units, its a shock it runs at all.
The "New" 2/3DS units had a massive bump its power, going from a 268 MHz Dual Core CPU and 128 MB of ram, to a 804 MHz Quad Core CPU with 256 MB. Keep in mind 1/2

IBM pcs used open standards, but itself wasn't an open standard. It's the reason why "IBM compatible" became a thing. Gotta thank Compaq for making a clean-room reverse engineering of the bios code in 82. And phoenix technologies making a commercial bios in 84.
