Anyone that has spent time in a crowd that was violently dispersed knows how well this scene replicated that feeling. The sound, the disorientation, the sense of impending danger— all of it evoked an eerily familiar physiological response in me. It was scary, incredible, and necessary.

I’m becoming gradually less sympathetic to Luthen’s misery. He says he sacrifices everything for the rebellion, but as an accelerationist, he’s materially responsible for immense pain and suffering endured by the groups whom have already lost the most under Imperial rule (e.g., the Dhanis).

Just realized for the first time that one of these guys yells “down with democracy!” like 30 seconds after their first election lmao

I posted this thread on Twitter almost 2 years ago, but it’s never been a more timely read: I always thought this line in TPM was a great reflection of how bad faith policymakers inspire real-world distrust with civil servants and other unelected public officials.

The Mon Cala arc from TCW is still so crazy to me. The Republic was really out here fighting a whole ass proxy war to deny representative government to an entire species. So United States-coded.

I’m sure this post has been done a hundred time, but the architectural brutalism of Imperial-controlled Coruscant is just one of those small details that both expands the lore and puts Andor so far ahead of basically everything else in Star Wars right now.

Skeleton Crew is filled with shots like this that make me want to pause the show so I can take in every detail of the background. It reminds me so much of the care they took to build out every scene in ROTS.

Are the Centrists and Populists described in Bloodline formal parties or just the catch-all names for the opposing coalitions? Seems unlikely that a literal galaxy full of different interests could be adequately represented by just two parties in the Senate!

From Cloak of Deception- seems like the central thesis of every Luceno novel from this era is that the jedi were way too far gone.

Is there any scholarship on this point from Nemik? It’s so ridiculously prescient, but I’d never heard it put so succinctly as it was here.

Begging folks to read the Alphabet Squadron trilogy; easily some of the most grounded Star Wars I’ve read!
