My grandmother turned 99 this week! I’m so thankful for her!

Call for submissions, Call for Submissions We Stayed Loving Free: Decolonizing Relationships and Love in the End of Times We are seeking submissions for an anthology on decolonizing relationships and love in the end of times from BIPOC folks (QTBIPOC submissions strongly encouraged) considering polyamory; ethical/consensual non monogamy; and the many ways that we describe our experiences of complexity in relationships. We welcome multiple expressions of communication, including essays, art, poetry, etc. Please submit an abstract (max 250-400 words) outlining your idea, any collaborators, and citing any sources you would be working with, to decolonizing.relationships@protonmail.com by_July 17,2025. Call for submissions blurb Relationships and Love in the End of Times Editors: Heidi Mehta & Dr. Syrus Marcus Ware We began working on this project after an exchange on a private facebook post wherein Heidi was looking for BIPOC focused resources on polyamory and we were all chiming in to try to find sources to support her inquiry. What we found was that there was nothing really out there that spoke to our stories, histories and needs. QTBIPOC folks who love with multiplicity exist-but our stories are often not reflected in more mainstream polyamorous narratives. How many of us have scoured the pages of previous tomes on poly life to find our stories and histories with no avail? There are still so few resources and materials for BIPOC and QTBIPOC communities exploring the love of more than one person. This anthology will fill a much needed gap in the literature supporting BIPOC poly communities. Historically, many communities pre colonial contact lived and loved in multiple relationship formats that often included life outside of what we have come to know as a nuclear two partner family. Yet colonial practices have resulted in the erasure of many of these stories and histories. Existing books about polyamory lack BIPOC content, yet sell BIPOC culture back to us through a white washed lens/ packaged as new, radical and white-invented. Relationship anarchy and other practices are rooted in our histories but one formats that often included life outside of what we have come to know as a nuclear two partner family. Yet colonial practices have resulted in the erasure of many of these stories and histories. Existing books about polyamory lack BIPOC content, yet sell BIPOC culture back to us through a white washed lens/ packaged as new, radical and white-invented. Relationship anarchy and other practices are rooted in our histories but one would thing that white tech bros invented it, if you read about it in mainstream poly sources. We believe in the power of reclaiming our stories and sharing our history, present and dreams of the future together to offer more options for more of us to figure out how we want to love. We are curious about love that disrupts normativity, and the harms of anti-Black, Anti-Indigenous, ableist, transphobic, racist, homophobic, anti-migrant, islamophobic, patriarchal, capitalist and white supremacist ways of being. We are eager to connect with authors and artists who help us find new ways of being through care practices, connection, and supportive circles. Had a lovely birthday! A encouraged me to finally get a septum piercing that I’d been wanting. It was so scary in the build up and in the end not painful at all and actually fun! I keep forgetting and hitting myself in my nose - ouch! Very thankful to have made the leap after 20 years of yearning!
