You seem reasonable, but you're not everyone. Many people are dissing games for using AI at all, even if it's only used for modding content, not the official game content. They don't even know if the training data is stolen. It's blanket hate, and it's not warranted.

The code isn't AI slop as far as we know. They're just providing support for AI tools for modding. They really shouldn't have done this, because people see in black-and-white about this technology a lot of the time, but maybe they didn't think it was as big a deal as using AI content directly.

What I was saying was there's a difference between providing content creation tools which utilize AI and using AI tools to make your own content. From what I understood of the game's offerings, the game content was not created using AI tools, but the game has associated mod tools supporting gen-AI.
