I love making art and games!
I changed quite a bit of my game compared the original concept. Because I was struggling to figure out a consistent system for triggers and dialogue, I ended up having my entire game take place in one area. Even though it was a limitation, I’m happy with what came out of it. #SmallGameStudio

I had a few people ask me about how to add a trail and wanted to make a post about it.

1) Go to Effects > Trail
2) Put the trail as a child of the player
3) Change the trail renderer line so it decreases over distance
4) Choose your colors and lower the Alpha on top right corner

Passage had really cool art, and I liked how they showed the passage of time through the characters and world. I think having the narrowed view really adds to the game as well.

I was a bit confused by shū qt first, but learning the controls makes you appreciate it a bit more. It feels like a more advanced drawing game, which makes sense with calligraphy.

Loneliness was a … lonely game. Everyone just runs away from you and the game gets darker until it suddenly ends. I like the element of making objects repel you.

It took me a minute to understand what was going on in PONGS. The added mechanic of a QTE with the keyboard was pretty unexpected. I guess it’s supposed to be edutainment pong??

A Game About Love & Distance was such a fun abstract experience. It reminded me of the marriage where you can still understand the relationship between these simple colored squares.

Sibilant Snakelines was really cool in using a retro aesthetic and gameplay to emulate more complex games

I didn’t originally know what Freedom Bridge was about until the ending. Really effective despite being very simple and short.

For some reason, I can't get the scoreboard to work. I got sad, so I added a dog to the game.

It's really exciting to see all the variables and terms that I would always see in game dev videos start to make sense to me. Like wow, I know how to shoot objects and make them disappear! Love this class.

played Paperclips, feel like I just got thrown into a CEO position and tanking the company.

I can see the connection between making an auto clicker and using void Update in Unity.

A Teenage Vampire’s Guide to Sunshine is really fun to experiment with.

Was kinda surprised by how detailed the AI responses are.

I made this really janky TV set in Blender last week to see how importing would work. It's not that hard to play videos on a plane, but they sadly can't be .gifs

Wanted to make a game where you have to press different keys to select TV channels. But I don't know how to program Input.GetKeyDown(KeyCode.__) for multiple keys.

I may or may not have to just copy and paste 26 lines until I figure it out.

Wasn't sure how to make a natural looking light, so I just used a small area light and upped the intensity a bit for these candles. I'm sure I'll find a better way to do this later in the quarter hehe

It's a little subtle, but I added a pink spotlight on a house sitting on a cloud. I want to experiment more with lighting in future projects.

Found this cool 3D artist on poly.pizza named Isa Lousberg. Gonna incorporate some of their models in my project 1 :)

This is my first Unity project. I didn't have much time to flesh it out, but I'm looking forward to making more progress!
