A couple of years back I was unable to find any official NASA design assets for their old X-Plane tail emblem. So I built some using various images of X-Planes for reference. Scale and spacing of the letters varied quite a lot. (I asked NASA and they said it's free to use, just not commercially.)

Say hello to Wilfred! He may look fuzzy but there's RAAAAAAGE in there...

Just another refugee from The Bad Place. I make stuff like this. I call it photo/graphic art, it's usually conceptual but sometimes just aesthetic. It combines composite photography and technical vector illustration. If you work in a similar way let me know!
