If it's a new adaptation of Moore's comic I'm not sure why they would be

Was one of those "I'm glad I'm alive at this point in human history to witness this art" type of things. The Return was like that too

And finally I'd say its worth reading (or watching Rodger's lectures) about Milton the person a little bit prior, most notably that he was instrumental in the overthrow and execution of Charles I and was imprisoned/almost executed after the King's son regained power (after which he wrote PL).

There's a ton of references to classical mythology and literature.. would rec focusing on the sensual experience of reading the words aloud and basking in the imagery they create vs trying to understand all the refs the first time around.

I read it earlier this year and it instantly became my all time favorite work in English, and honestly contained the most beautiful use of the English language I've come across.

IIRC it's basically a non sequitur. Like that episode of Sponge Bob where they think "24" and "25" are hilarious, and part of the humor is that olds don't know.

Yeah. Regardless of whether he actually has sympathies to German Nazis (I'm doubtful), he's still completely unfit on account of handling something that should have been easy (get covered before you run) in the most publicly stupid manner possible.

That poster was seemingly making shit up. The 1919 is a small part of a larger tattoo that he, evidently, got when he worked on the "Trail Fixing Crew"

And if you Google the opening words of the text blurb on that tweet, you only get like four pages. Really fucking weird

Hearing that this is the most Miltony telling of the story since Shelley is what's got me doing the sicko yes

sorry if I'm repetitive, but sometimes it really hits me that folks don't realize that, when given the offer of "you can have money and access to power, all you have to do is endure the hissing and condemnations of liberals, they'll never do much more than that", how many people would say "uh, yes?"

There's a book about the intersection of oil and Christianity in early oil industry culture called "Anointed with Oil". Reading it, it's amazing how similar a lot of tech barons and early oil men sound (with the Christian nationalism redressed).

I almost severed my big toe with an out-of-control chisel (it cut the tendon and fractured the bone). It hurt far less in the moment than when I snagged my small toe on something while walking through the living room.
