Signs of an introverted recluse hermit developer:

- I need to sort out why it takes a long time to process this data
- ugh, it uses 36+GB of memory, computer has only 32GB and paging isn’t helpful
- “you can ask support if they’ll get you more memory”

- eww, that requires communicating with people

“Go to Bluesky, it’s the best platform at the moment”

Ok, let’s try it again…

USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA POINTLESS DRIVEL ABOUT USA USA USA CRYING USA USA USA

How about the platform actually cares what I might like to see instead of assuming everyone is from USA always?

Ah yes, the six genders…

It’s a damn backpack. Why would it have a gender?

Also backpacks for babies?

This is scary example of modern things. A person doesn’t even realize they could read the documentation for things before using them - rather they go ask an LLM for help.

Am I the only one who is more and more saddened by these things?

Yet another example of AI being smart programmer.

I wrote:

public static double ToPrecision(this double value, double precision) =>

Guess what AI suggested as implementation?

value.ToPrecision(precision);

Yes. Call itself. Eternal loop. Halt.

That’s exactly what I wanted to do. Sure.

“I don’t bother reading that this was only about 183 PHP/Python devs in a couple of teams. I’ll just make it look like it’s some global thing.”

Why do people want to show off their inability to read or understand what is said so much? Why do they want to spread misinformation?
Data showing the top 16% of remote workers outperform the top 5% in-office, while the bottom 12% underperform the bottom 5% in-office, makes sense.

Top performers thrive with extra time from no commute, but underperformers struggle without oversight. RTO penalizes top talent for others’ inability.

Bluesky: we have this “following” and “discover” so you can choose what you see

Also Bluesky: “following” will mostly show stuff labeled “from Discover”, not who you actually follow

Why? Why does every service think they know better than me what I want to see?
