Bro, they just really good friends, okay? 🙃

As you know, a friend of ours was prescribed them by his doctor, and he ended up with crushing anxiety and depression that did not go away even months after having gone off them. His online research suggested there were thousands of other people just like him out there.

That was a great read! Thanks for sharing!

"Pre-sad" is excellent! I like that!

Speaking as a college-educated woman myself, I'm happy to say that: (a) I absolutely can take care of myself; (b) I don't need my husband, but I'm glad I have him; and (c) we like to take care of each other. I think (c) is the important part, and OP ain't gettin' it.

As I've noted here and elsewhere before: It took a supernatural power, the fallen Lucifer, God's former most favored angel, to tempt Eve to eat the apple. It took an ordinary human woman (Eve) to tempt Adam. Which should submit to the other, I wonder? (The actual answer is neither, of course.)

Have you been watching "Murder at Evensong" on Acorn? Your comment reminded me of it because it's def. not an affluent community. I think you'd enjoy it a great deal!

We’re running our annual food drive to help local orgs. The vets group I work with just restarted their food insecurity program, too. It’s going to be a long, hard winter for so many folks.

As long as we skip the neon half-shirt phase, I’m down with this idea! 😂

This is some serious “Angel of the Hearth” BS. We’re one yellow-wallpapered room away from asylums for hysterical women.

I think we’ve arrived at that age when much of our understanding of the world grows increasingly obsolete.

I am too! And while prices in Canada did not change noticeably after they stopped minting their pennies, something tells me certain retailers in the US will happily use it as yet another lame excuse for price-gouging.

The way people like this project their misery onto some non-existent "standard" (in this case, biblical) just to rationalize how unhappy they are will never not blow my mind. You do you, I guess, sis, but man, I'm so glad not to be you.

We get it. You're voting for Newsom. That's great. I never said a word about any of these candidates. I simply pointed out that Newsom is more problematic than you seem interested in acknowledging. Thanks for the discussion. I'm done.

Then the moral rot goes all the way down? I don't know what you're expecting to get out of this exchange. I'm not going to agree with you about Newsom. I'm not going to pledge my vote because the guy has a good social media manager. I'm going to try to see that he's NOT the candidate in 2028.

I literally have not made the choice yet because it's 2026, and we have bigger fish to fry right now. I just know I have always had a disdain for Governor Haircut, and I'm getting tired of people shoving him down our throats like he's the Dem Party savior or something.
