Personally I reject the framing that hemp, cannabis, or any cannabinoid-based product has any moral valence.

Yeah, the politics of hemp vs. cannabis are a bit wonky. Because of the possibility of cross-pollination, it's perceived as zero sum among outdoor growers. I haven't followed the politics in this area on the federal level super closely in a few years, tbh.

Moreover, this Administration in particular should have as few tools as possible to investigate or prosecute people as possible, given their rejection of the rule of the law.

This is a dumb move that will not have the effect the proponents say they want it to (per Mitch McConnell, to “keep the dangerous products out of the hands of children while preserving the hemp industry for farmers.”)

Seattle counted roughly 39K ballots today, & they broke in favor of Wilson by 11.4%, erasing the entirety of the incumbent's lead.
