there's a lot of jank related to positioning your Pokémon; it's definitely not a perfect system. but overall, it's fast frenetic fun that doesn't tax you too hard as long as you take your time with the game and level up your guys.

it's definitely not the same thing as Arceus, I think the key thing to take away is that it's as battle focused as Arceus was capture focused… and the battle system is definitely on the intense side for me, phew. But I was able to mostly stay overleveled and, well, spam healing items when I wasn't.

speaking of jank, look at my poor Barbaracle; he can't make it through the battle court door he broke open the way too all by himself :(

there's so much to nitpick about this game if you wanna get nitpicky, and there's so much I miss from other games…

My fourth, a shiny Bellsprout, unremarkably hanging out on a roof. Man, what jank on display here, lol, first the shiny sound going off only when I turn away from it, then the ruinously short throw distance compared to my GOAT shiny hunting game (Legends Arceus). Bleh.

My second, a shiny Fletchling, serenely resting on a lamppost even while I was smashing Mega Crystals with my Gardevoir, Marcy.

My first, a shiny Snorunt. My second, after one in Legends Arceus, and sadly, a second one that's male and unable to evolve into Froslass. I guess this one will turn into a Glalie for completion's sake.
