I didn't think they were going to be in the mix this year because of the blue line that was too young. After Barron was traded for Carrier, that change the whole picture. Also, Laine came back from injury and Dach found his game temporarily, which change the outcome.

Montreal played beyond expectations this year. However, despite a progression, I think there is still a lot of work to do for that rebuild. Guhle and Reinbacher are prone to injuries and are a concern at the blue line. Will they reach their potential? Still in search of a center for top 6.
