ill open the shipping box, but the monitor is staying in it until tmrw because i don't want to just leave it standing against the wall.

i need a second set of hands because the arm i'm mounting it to is legit and has a sophisticated locking mechanism that needs a tool that my dad has in his makeshift workshop in the garage—and i feel like im going to make a mistake.

he's off tomorrow, so i'll do this then.
February 17, 2026 at 10:45 PM
hell, i'm *still* thinking.
February 17, 2026 at 10:27 PM
i had no music, no anything. just silence and my own breathing in coming up w something legendary.
February 17, 2026 at 10:26 PM
if the reviews that were there were paid, id eat glass. i know diction; i know persuasive writing when it's written sloppily. these aren't compensated customers.
February 17, 2026 at 9:52 PM
the price i paid is so low that there's no competition, which is probably indicative of its abysmal quality.

reviews weren't bad and there were plenty of them and not written by "free product" paid reviewers, so i bit that lure.
February 17, 2026 at 9:51 PM
im not picky when it comes to something that a similar rendition accidentally given to me is the case. whatever man, i just want a monitor. send me anything.
February 17, 2026 at 9:47 PM
the only product on the website just to prove they have items to sell is my exact monitor but curved w a lower refresh rate, and if they sold me that monitor instead...thatd be fine LMAO~
it's the same price and this company fumbled, but my expectations are so low that they're already met.
February 17, 2026 at 9:44 PM
the manufacturer behind this monitor is some chinese shit that only sell via ecommerce and the website is barebones w no effort behind its presentation, but all of that is okay because i didn't buy a performance monitor—its a throwaway screen i'm using for static content.
February 17, 2026 at 9:39 PM
for context, 34" is just shy of 3', let's say there's packing around it and all the logistics making it north of 4', so the box as delivered is probably wasted space /or/ more secure packing which i wouldn't complain about.
February 17, 2026 at 9:36 PM
i kind of don't really see why this shipping box is so gargantuan, but i think the product box inside it is the tru size of the actual item.
the outer container seriously stands 5.5' and i stand at 6'4".
February 17, 2026 at 9:33 PM
5" on the diagonal is actually significant.
February 17, 2026 at 9:16 PM
this one is a 34" display.
February 17, 2026 at 9:15 PM
i don't want to force something to work, which it won't because i would be craning my neck to see the top of the monitor. the 29" veteran monitor that's oriented portrait is already a reach.
February 17, 2026 at 9:15 PM
i'll stack them.
February 17, 2026 at 9:14 PM
i still haven't gotten to this. if i don't get an attack of productivity tonight, this is tomorrows venture at 4 in the morning.
February 17, 2026 at 9:09 PM
i think i'm going to stack them tbh. they're both the same physical dimensions and identical resolutions, so it's not like they'll clash.
February 17, 2026 at 5:34 PM
im having ideas.
February 17, 2026 at 5:23 PM
i have the mount all ready w the brackets and everything. i just need a screwdriver for 4 screws and boom, done.
February 17, 2026 at 4:50 PM
it will quite literally take 10m of my time.
February 17, 2026 at 4:49 PM
i'm going to set up the monitor this afternoon, i still have yet to unbox it.
