Yeah, game logic is annoying.

As a funny story, I finished this world exactly one week before Datalists were added to Udon. That is, all the card shuffling/passing around is done with arrays that point to the cards. Which is probably the worst thing I've ever had to do with Udon to this date.

I’m glad you enjoyed it!

I didn’t actually know that people other than myself use this world. I’m kinda motivated to fix it up now as there are a few things that are broken/annoying if I remember correctly.

Thanks for this. Bakery is the #1 thing I really the absence of since I switched to Linux. Glad to know that this is possible with the built in baking.

For anyone reading this who is not a bot, this bill will ban all funding for ALL healthcare (yes, even if you're not trans) if a hospital provides any healthcare to a trans person (yes, even if they pay for it out of pocket). Have fun paying $1000+ for your yearly checkup instead of the $25 copay.

I've been using Wayland only with NVIDIA and there are some definite pain points, but everything (except VR) works nicely. And VR works too, just not nicely.

The major limitation with the VRChat SDK is that it doesn't support build + test (offline testing), though personally this didn't impact me much as I already usually would upload test versions of my worlds.

I use the Linux Unity client with ALCOM for VRChat world dev.
I've heard that AMD gpus generally play nicer with linux, but I only have an NVIDIA gpu so I can't confirm myself.
As for Bakery, it's Windows + NVIDIA only, and I haven't found any examples of anyone getting it to work otherwise.

And finally, for VRChat, make sure to use an up to date version of GE-Proton otherwise video players will likely not work.

It's a shame because most everything else (including non-VR video games) work flawlessly and/or have fantastic alternatives that are just better.

Speaking of which, Unity works just fine natively, but the one thing I miss more than anything else is the Bakery plugin, as that does not work.

Having made the switch earlier this year, VR kinda sucks sadly but is still usable. I recommend checking out Linux VR Adventures for help, but in my experience, Envision/ALVR gets you most of the way there out of the box (for wired/wireless respectively).

This is really important for safety too. Someone not being willing to put even a small amount of extra effort into their relationships is a major red flag that they may be malicious. And even if it's not malice, I'd rather surround myself with people who do care enough to put in that extra effort.

Yeah. The cause is something I'm doing to save FPS, but it not appearing in the VRChat camera is a result of this bug: feedback.vrchat.com/sdk-bug-repo...
[SDK 3.8.0] Player Camera Fails to Render DrawMeshInstanced Objects | SDK Bug & Feature Requests | VRChat
In the public world 'a-lin', photos taken using the player camera fail to display vegetation, trees, terrain, and similar environmental objects.

That's actually strange and might be a bug. Was it in game, or in a photo that it didn't render?

If it's in a photo taken with VRChat's camera, that's a bug on their end that I can't really do anything about. Otherwise, it's probably a bug on my end that I'm not aware of.

As of right now, there's two things, one of which is in a slightly more obvious location than the other.

Woo! I'm glad :)
