There are extraordinary phenomena at the bottom of the ocean, such as underwater waterfalls, denser, colder salt water sinks into the depths. There are also saltwater ‘lakes’ and ‘rivers’ – areas with such high salinity that their water does not mix with the surrounding seawater.
