The Ministry of Interior has provided on location collection through appointment (through WhatsApp too) for those of special needs and bedridden. As of 31 December 2024, over 13,241 individuals have utilized this service. (8/n)

One has to understand that the previous fingerprint record and system is still functioning until a more new database of biometric and detailed high def. fingerprint is being prepared using the new system. Kuwait has been able to get over 76% registered into the system. (7/n)

One important feature that was introduced was to check whether one's biometric & fingerprint record was in the system or not. This came about as people were a little confused as on arrival into Kuwait at immigration on showing the passport a fingerprint verification is done.(6/n)

Hence enters the appointment system, initially through the META platform and later on SAHEL app, one could take an appointments for the center locations and time slots. After a certain number was registered the time slot became unavailable. (5/n)

With a country of population of 4.8 million plus and the eligible population for the registration at age 18+ that brings us to 4 million. Since the start and later when the other center opened up, initially no appointments were needed which caused serious overcrowding. (4/n)

Very slowly but steady, some progress was going on. The process at the airports were closed down in about 4 months when the other locations started their work. Credit should be given to the Ministry as they set up registration at the most frequented malls. (3/n)

Initially the registration process started across the immigration counters at the airport terminals at arrivals and as time passed was observed to be a time consuming process which is a strain on an already maxed out airport facility. Hence, more locations were chosen. (2/n).
