Stay on edge of North York Moors, but originally from Maryburgh, a wee place in the Highlands.
Very often found on a Westerly Konsort off the West Coast of Scotland ⛵
Married to a musician.

Hi I'm Claire
I'm pleased to be here, but I prefer to be at sea!
I lived for many years with OH aboard 'Drumlin' our lovely old Westerly Konsort, sailing West Coast of Scotland and Ireland.
If you like nature on land or at sea, especially sunrises and sunsets then you've come to the right place.
At anchor in company - Gott Bay, Tiree.

Cold weather and clear skies make for beautiful sunsets.
- Watching the sun setting over the Pennine Hills, from the North York Moors

- Watching the Lochranza - Claonaig ferry arrive.
-The hills above Lochranza, Isle of Arran, Scotland.

Drumlin was anchored in Lamlash Bay, we took the 'round the island' bus and hopped on and off in beautiful weather.

Lovely to look at on days like today, when the temp won't rise above zero 🥶

Popped over to Ullapool, Wester Ross this afternoon.

A visit to the Island of Kerrera, west coast of Scotland.
- 16th century Gylen Castle, built by the Clan MacDougall, with Drumlin anchored in the south facing inlet below.
A temporary anchorage very often vulnerable to a large swell from the prevailing South Westerlies.

That sweet 'tickatickatick' of an old raw water cooled Bukh 20 on a Westerly Konsort

Anchored off Ullapool, Wester Ross.
In the days before the harbour and seafront improvement work.

Pretty impressive weather arriving this morning in the Highlands.

All I can say is it's 'moody' - A9 North.
12°C temp change since yesterday, it's now 6°C and most of yesterday's snow is gone.

Sailors have a strange relationship with lighthouses. They're friends, but found in the most inhospitable places.
- SW light, Mull of Kintyre.
- Ailsa Craig, that huge lump of granite where the Clyde meets the North Channel.
- Inner Light, Holy Isle, Arran
- Outer Light, East Side of Holy Isle.

Woke up to this today 🙄
Due to drive north to stop with family in the Highlands.
Thanks #stormbert for the gale force easterlies and snow.
Can't say we weren't warned, from the start of the week Drumochter and Slochd were always going to be a problem.
...Ach well, let's see what tomorrow brings 😊

The perfectly sheltered natural harbour at Acarsaid Mhor - Rona.
Lying between the east coast of Skye and the west coast Scottish mainland.
You can just see Drumlin at anchor on the RHS, hiding from very brisk northerlies with the Isle of Skye in the distance.

Tighnabruaich, West coast of Scotland.
Best sailing grounds - that's all! ⛵⚓

It's cold here!
When we lived on Drumlin full time it was cosy in the winter. But when it got very cold condensation was our enemy.
Convection provided by 2 large tubular heaters, one in the forepeak the other in the quarter helped, and we always slept with a hatch cracked open even in the snow.
