Just watched this for the first time in decades. So good. No music telling you what to feel. Great acting. Amazing.

I have a little backyard pond with goldfish. Once in a while, a fish gets injured and permanently disabled and moves into the house. My silly cat only recently discovered there are fish on the house! He tore up the paper on the bottom of the tank to watch them. The fish is Calico, unbothered.

Deleted my academia dot edu account today. They don’t make it easy. I couldn’t get around the demand to accept their terms, so I googled “how do I delete academia account” and it gave me a direct link to my account page.

Last summer, tried to strip/restain very large deck, disassemble a rotten wraparound bench, pull up and replace rotten deckboards. I stomped a board out with excessive force, fell thru, got a deep wraparound bruise on my thigh, and, in my ortho’s words, “tried to dislocate” my shoulder.

This grackle, missing the top half of their beak, has been visiting my feeder a lot lately. They scoop the seeds up and then tip their head back to swallow. It looks like the beak possibly broke off? Seems to be a remnant there. They seem to be thriving. 🪶 #birds

From afar, Mourning Doves look very plain, but up close they are quite colorful. Sky blue around the eye, pink/red arou d the beak, and a flash of irridescent pink on the shoulder. 🪶 #birds

My feeder cam captured this video of a grackle with no upper beak and possibly anomalous lower beak. Seems to be eating just fine.

Common Grackle feeding a squawking teenager who is literally standing in the food and demanding to be fed. Parents of teenagers will find this familiar. (Teen grackle first peers over the roof, then jumps down into the feeder.)
