Starting #blackhistorymonth by listening to bell hooks Outlaw Culture. The only other book of hers I’ve read is All About Love, which was incredible- happy to be reading more. Also loving the #libby app. Yay libraries!

Anyone else notice how Beyoncé’s dress seemed to be stabbing her? I feel that underwire pain 😬 #grammys #grammys2025

Lol Kacey Musgrave didn’t seem to be excited Beyoncé won best country album #grammys2025
Tbf, she had a great album which could have won any other year, but this year the deck was Stacked

Tuned into the Grammy’s just in time to see Chappell Roan perform! God she’s gorgeous and a much needed light. Crying right now, not even kidding lmao

I don't know if people who haven't worked in the public sector are aware that the category "things substantially funded by federal grant money" includes more or less everything

If you want a fun romp with Gene Wilder through the feeling of being surrounded by rising fascism, I highly recommend ‘Rhinoceros’ from 1974 based on the play by French absurdist playwright Eugène Ionesco. The whole movie is free & up on Youtube!

A painting I did about Dermatillomania (skin picking) and more broadly #mentalhealthawareness
It’s a body focused repetitive behavior that is a common comorbidity for neurodivergent folks (and others.)
I get better and worse, but my hands are looking pretty rough at the moment. Giving myself grace 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hey #booksky, any suggestions on books that inspire resilience or hope? Looking for memoirs maybe? Thanks you!

More sashiko repair on a cardigan- It feels good to fix things rather than get rid of them! I’m trying to only buy absolute necessities, and maintaining what I already own is a big part of that 🪡🧵

Having a really hard time not bursting into tears today at work- I am so god damn scared for my fellow Americans. It’s so strange that everything is continuing like normal while simultaneously our rights are being dismantled?

One of the last bits of my *in the before times* prep was applying for a library card. Libraries are one of the last truly FREE spaces we have, and they are so important.

P.S.- I was able to apply online! It was so easy!
One thing before tomorrow:

Use your local libraries.

Get your card.

Borrow books, manga, films, audios, ebooks.

Recommend titles for purchase (usually online).

Attend promoted activities.

Fill out those "How are we doing?" questionnaires.

Tell your kids that libraries are good.

They are.

A collage that feels appropriate for today.
Let us fight for freedom-
Go read MLK’s speeches, study history, turn off the mainstream news, make connections in our own communities, and do our best to protect the most vulnerable among us.

Lol now knowing I’m autistic explains so much about why I haaaate trying to use new social media platforms. Good god how I clung to MySpace -then FB- for waaay too long.
But #fuckmeta, TikTok is compromised (and always confused me anyway), so here I am, new internet cave to yell into then avoid ☺️
