In spite of everything, I went to a craft class today at the local library. Had a great time and made a pretty trinket dish. Amazing what you can make from an oyster shell, a napkin, a dab of Modge Podge, and a bit of gold paint.

Sent emails and made calls to Senators and Congressman. (Surprised to actually talk to staffers at 2 offices.) Used this script as my base but added specifics about my 90-yo dad needing access to Meals on Wheels. Looks like our emails and calls may be working.

Just finished this compelling novel about two childhood friends coming to adulthood in the time of the Iranian revolution. The harsh realities of life and the subsequent choices made by these women truly resonated in today's American political climate.
