Had a waste water blockage somewhere between my house and the street. Reported it to Thames Water and 2.5 hours later it was sorted!

Plus the house got a colonoscopy

In case you wonder if we're at (hybrid) war with Russia.

Today’s game of Endless Winter, with many expansions. Good game, took about four hours plus new rules explanations. Came 3rd out of four, with the top three quite close.

I’m really sorry I didn’t have one of these when I was working

Friends indulged my gaming nostalgia on Saturday and played 1980’s Civilization.

It’s a great game, but way too long. We finished at our planned cutoff of 7 hours, but there was a lot of game to go.

I know it seems an eternity ago, but do you remember Trump saying he would bring down prices? Not bring down inflation, bring down prices.

Absolutely true in absolute terms, but the total European contribution is over 130 billion Euros, from an economy about 2/3 the size of the USA economy.

Lies, damn lies, and statistics.

Because I was curious - in the 2024 election Republicans in Texas won 66% of the congressional seats in Texas with 58% of the vote.

So Trump saying Republicans are “entitled to five more seats” is the usual bullshit.

Edwin the Dragonborn Paladin rides into combat on his recently summoned giant goat.

Except we didn’t have a goat figurine. But we did have a giant skunk.

It’s that kind of campaign

I don't think so - I think Sandemans is on the south side of the river.

I mean Mercado do Bolhão. You can't escape without pastel de nata, possibly still warm, from there. And the seafood!

I love Porto. If you like Japanese food then Kaigi, out in the suburbs, is absolutely superb+++.

The essentials for life are food, water and shelter. If this happened to food or water it would be treated as a national crisis. When it happens to shelter people vote for more of it.

For my Australian friends - this shows the strength of the swing against Trump and the USA in Europe. You'll get there.

I hate First Past The Post with a passion. We shouldn't even need to talk about this kind of tactical voting.

With Labour currently being more of the same I'm considering voting my heart (Greens) and letting the cards fall where they may.

Do you think they’re going to come and protect us? They’re supposed to. I’m not so sure.”

Article 5 has been invoked once, after September 11. Europe came.
