Who had to master this iteration of the "autogrid"? I miss how quickly I could move grids in and out of the column but that's about it. I also got lucky and never dropped one inside the scope.

In 1968, my dad's high school physics teacher helped their class build a crude electron microscope. In this photo you can see the increased resolution between the optical and electron image. I found this while sifting through his things and wanted to share.

Me at Berkeley in 2014, milling on one of the first cryo-FIBs built, which was purchased from the Wadsworth Center in NY. The transfer system and stage were built by Humming Bird. We didn't use any platinum. I drove the lamellae back to Caltech and a few survived. It was wild times!

Our Hydra Bio is up and running at Penn State College of Medicine! We want to thank @thermofishersci.bsky.social for all their help. Installation went smoothly and we're grateful to be working with your applications team, learning how best to use it. It's a beautiful instrument.
