The fact that Richard Tice, a prominent Reform UK MP, is saying that Starmer is finally “listening and learning” from the far-right party speaks volumes, and also pins the blame for issues such as getting an NHS appointment on migrants, rather than the lack of funding into these vital services.

The Labour Party, the party that is supposedly for the people, has now echoed the words of Farage’s idol, Enoch Powell, saying things such as Britain being at risk of “becoming an island of strangers”.

Activists across the country have been mobilising against Nigel Farage and Reform UK wherever they go to oppose their anti-working class policies, such as stricter immigration laws.
May 13, 2025 at 5:35 PM
The repercussions of these results has meant that the far-right has grown in confidence, as shown by fascist groups Britain First planning to mobilise in Birmingham.

Adjustments by bosses for disabled workers are costly and this makes them more expensive to employ.
It's this erosion of profits that generates the societal oppression of disabled people.

Disabled activists argue that disability is the oppression faced by people with impairments in an inaccessible society.
As capitalism developed production moved out of people's homes and into factories, they lost the ability to control how they worked.

The protests must be the beginning of a battle to challenge the ruling and to defend the right of trans people to live a life of their choosing.

But there has been an immediate show of resistance with big trans rights protests on the streets of towns and cities across Britain, supported by a wide range of organisations.
This is the latest attack on hard won rights flowing from the growth of the far right and the mainstreaming of their ideas.

This will do nothing to tackle sexism or to advance women’s liberation. In fact, it will only embolden right wingers who want to attack women and trans rights.

The movement on the streets today has captured that anger.
The Turkish states response has been characteristic of a weak government losing support - violent repression, using tear gas and mass arrests to try to subdued protesters.

Since 2018, Turkey has been plagued by economic crisis, inflation reached 83% in 2024.
Erdoganhas failed to deal with inflation and the crisis. Instead he has shifted the burden onto workers. That is driving the erosion of his social base among the poor.

Trumps protectionist tariffs aims to rebuild US manufacturing, reducing dependence on Chinese imports. But it's a risky strategy that could cause fractures at the top of society and produce opportunities for the left to build resistance from below.

The escalation of the trade war is sending shockwaves through an already sluggish and weak global capitalist economy.
The turmoil flows from the diminishing domination of the US across the world and from the breakdown of neoliberalism.
