Wake up babe, a new #HEMA slur dropped.
This one probably has more venom in it because I do think there is an innate problem with traditionalism as a political ideology, not just with it's appearance in HEMA. Unlike the other slurs where I'm mostly just trying to understand a weird perspective.

Been adding more #fencing specific fitness to my week to try and up my lunge for tournament season. Mostly doing jump squats and sprints when I have the space. Really fun.

Something #HEMA does better than a lot of sports is cater to social players. Like most sports only put effort into producing Olympians, but with #HEMA it’s really normal that someone will fence three or four times a week and go to sword camps for no other reason than it’s fun.

It’s kind of amazing how good fencing all morning, eating a pub lunch then napping feels. It’s what evolution has built me for.

The problem with #HEMA is different HEMAists think it’s a different hobby.
There’s:
•Thinks HEMA is modern fencing but with historical weapons
•Thinks HEMA is MMA but with weapons
•Thinks HEMA is reenactment combat but with modern protective gear
•Thinks HEMA is European kenjitsu

I am really hopeful that the new Warhammer Quest will let me use heroes from other Warhammer Quest games, mostly because I just got the Wood Elf hero from Cursed City and I'd like to play them in an Old World setting.
