He’s was a standard fox that got turned into a magical faerie one day for being rude to a forest spirit, hasn’t stopped being rude which is why he continues to be muzzled by them…but he’s pretty happy!

Final! I’ll take a scan of this tomorrow and probably throw it up in my shop
But yeah, I don’t paint on chipboard often anymore and it picks up colored pencil texture really easily, I tried to lean into it!

Ugly Phase II. I wanted to add more darks in for a second but then realized regretted it and just wiped it off. The magic of using thin acrylics lol!!
At this point I have my shapes solidified and values set. I could continue to render in paint if I wanted to but I intend to make this a mixed media

I call this the ugly phase and I think where a lot of artist lose steam myself included lol but continuing to lay down color and establish a strong silhouette and making sure colors look good next to each other

Okay so underpainting a color on your whole canvas will make it more cohesive color wise for the entirety of the rest of the painting.
Fun tip: use the same color you plan to use for the underpainting for your preliminary sketch, it will “erase” it and leave the secondary sketch.
