Eurosuite? A bit electro-y to be proper thrash but certainly feels like having your skull sandblasted, and seemingly not fascists

God I love Jack the Modernist so much. It's just so *fun*, tricksy and witty and slightly obnoxious, and the dialogue captures so perfectly the way we perform for each other. Why why why can't I write like this??!

Thank you! Next time I shall set up a gofundme or encourage people to pour jewels into my open grave

I have a stress headache, my left eye keeps twitching, I forgot to eat lunch and have nothing in for dinner, the last 4 pages of the submission is unfocused and shit. But hey! No one else in human history ever has tried to write a novel, so sacrifices must be made

case, what matters about Istvan's story specifically - and is this cold brutal style really embodying masculinity if it's also in the female perspective? Or is this just a style Szalay is projecting onto the story and characters - and if so could it be doing it about anyone, and any subject/issue?

Forever grateful to the non-binary community for introducing unconventional names more broadly to society, so when I tell someone I'm called Swithun they don't ask if they can call me Stephen or Swindon (!) instead, or, incredibly, simply say, "Are you sure?"

He also did not apologise? Just made a sort of "you know how it is" hand gesture as I boarded

Ah, 90s grammar school trauma. Someone in my year came in with a shaved head (his mother had panicked when his brother got nits). He was isolated "to stop others from getting ideas", because we all needed to look like little baby bank managers, not "skinhead hooligans"

Back on the train, bébé! It's ANNE UBERSFELD week. I love this essay, it combines the two things students love: deep reliance on a since-discredited psychologist, and untranslatable sanskrit.
