One thing that is heartening is I feel like I’ve finally gotten sympathetic to past me. There was a solid stretch of time where I hated 17/18 year old me for letting all that shit happen to me - but I didn’t know better and had no power over any of it. Now I just want to give that me a hug

love can of course cause you to do stupid things, i just feel awful for the roommate as a victim of the stupid thing done here

i don't necessarily disagree with the reading of the motive here but romanticizing this as if it was a two way street both speculates on the nature of the relationship and ignores the fact that he immediately made them an accomplice without foreknowledge or consent.
