I feel the same way about the mom struggling to connect with the daughter. They reinforce it later, so they clearly wanted you to know, but it doesn’t ever actually matter. You could remove it and nothing would actually change. Feels like there was a lot of stuff like that tbh.

We honestly just need to get MJ back to a lot of things at this point. It’s crazy how much her personality has been diluted over the years, now it often feels like they just write her to be a watered-down version of Lois Lane (looking at you, Insomniac).

I think that’s an unavoidable issue with any Pet Sematary adaptation, so much of it is about internal grief and the Pet Sematary subtly influencing Louis, but you can’t show that easily on film.
