Today I stood in Chino Hills for the No Kings protest—as a native Californian and proud daughter of a veteran who fled Jim Crow’s grip. I was raised to fight for civil rights, and I’ll take that fight to Washington to honor my parents’ legacy and protect our freedoms.

What happened to Senator Alex Padilla is unacceptable. A sitting U.S. Senator was forcibly taken to the ground and handcuffed by federal agents, simply for attempting to ask a question at a public event.

This is not the America we stand for!
