People like Musk and Andreessen see the salaries of people carrying out vital functions of the state as unacceptable waste but view the transfer of state capacity to private entities, with transfer of tax revenues to be under the eye of rich people, as responsible (& coincidental, highly profitable)

I do think the algorithm *over there* encouraged and emboldened a culture of being mean in the name of engagement, whether for $$ or just clout. this is a welcome change
