We were unharmed, but I couldn’t shake the imagery I had just seen of 3 lanes of oncoming traffic and being completely helpless. To go from being terrified of driving (especially in the rain) to driving over 400 miles… it’s just not something I ever saw myself doing

I also want to highlight a huge personal achievement for myself; driving there. Several years ago now before I had my license, I was in a car crash that absolutely terrified me. We hydroplaned across all 3 lanes on the interstate and then also skidded an additional 50 ft off road, and on a fence
