Not me but my mother. In the early 60s, she got lost at Heathrow Airport and a kind American man helped her find her mother. My grandmother always loved that encounter with "the absolute gentleman" that was George Peppard. The meeting came a year or two after Breakfast at Tiffanys.

Incredible writing, Walter. Your description of feeling different and how it maybe shaped your interest in certain films is wonderful. Every day in my job, I'm always endeavouring to find out what those special interests are with the children I work with.

I've found orchids to be remarkably resilient. Each year, it's like: "Damn, I forgot to check the orchids." Then an amazing pop of colour appears out of nowhere.

I share a birthday with Stevie and even though I know his Happy Birthday song was written with very different intentions, I never fail to listen to it on this day and feel a warmth in my heart for this great man.

Was being taken by a friend's parent to see Labyrinth in the 80s and accidentally entered the wrong theatre where Rob Lowe's Youngblood was well under way. Suffices to say, the nudity and adult content very quickly made said parent escort the gang of kids out of the screen!

The line delivery as Brimley fires the arrow never fails to simultaneously bring a big laugh and a huge cheer!

My local video store was in the back of a grocery shop in Dublin. The area that became filled with VHS tapes was once a butcher counter. Something about renting three horror tapes from a former blood-filled room, on a weekly basis of a Saturday in the late 80s, was seminal in my movie upbringing.

Would be great if somehow there was a Bandcamp-type site for buying physical books where you also get a digital download of the same said product. Doesn't seem that tricky an idea but obviously music and book publishing copyright differ...
