Yeah, if you don't start with the code that runs immediately after the on-die boot ROM, what are you even doing?

maybe by volume? in quarts?

Foolish tiktok'ers rushing ahead with potatoes before sufficient testing to evaluate the efficacy of other root vegetables in cold prevention. I demand an extensive study also covering radishes, beets, turnips, and carrots at the very least. Not to mention exploring various sock fabrics. SCIENCE!

I forget what useful effect I had that was activated by taking damage in my last game, but the end result is I bloodied bushes across all of the stiltgrounds, repeatedly.

It's depressing to me how pretty much every software company (of any sort) on the planet has bought into this absolute bullshit. Maybe once it finally completely implodes there will be some fun jobs actually building things again (and teaching people how to do the same).

Your cut of the billions they're flushing down the toilet to try to will this nonsense into reality? Maybe that's the solution! Start paying people to use this stuff. That'll do it, I bet...

General programming background in one "braces" language is actually pretty transferable to any of the others (and still useful even if diving into more exotic environments), in my experience. The core skills carry over and the rest is just fiddly details.

People pushing "AI" Chatbots as the "solution" to "learning" is absolutely terrifying.

I guess that does explain the preference for video content even when it's objectively worse than good written content. (Some video content is great, of course, but sifting through a 30-60 minute video instead of reading a couple pages of text... misery).

I figure I'm probably good until 2027 with Cal-COBRA, but if they manage to completely destroy the ACA or whathaveyou, I'd like an alternative to going back to Working For The Man as the mechanism for getting useful health insurance coverage.

I mean yeah I might occasionally want to do a bit of consulting or accidentally create some software or hardware I want to sell. Just don't want to be obligated to deal with somebody else's bullshit. ^^

Why not both?

It's kind of amazing how horrifically he misunderstands the point of works he likes. I suspect Iain Banks would have absolutely loathed him to the point that we would have needed to invent new units to quantify it.

Only Elon would actually aspire to be Ted Faro.

Also the GOP loses their easy excuse for not passing all kinds of completely batshit destructive legislation that they campaign on. They either have to actually go for it or vote against their own crazy bullshit...

I don't love it, but at some point I think you have to be pragmatic, given the alternatives right now. If we're lucky tonight's results might give the Rs second thoughts about continuing on the path they started.

"rude"? Seriously, wtf is wrong with them? Didn't realize they were building tone policing into the platform.
