easier to say what I am not
i haven't returned to this site in a while, and in the interim, not saying anything seems to have drawn more followers than anything I've posted. Pondering the implications of that.

as happens now and then, people sometimes leave random voice messages, not intended for me but I realized today that there is poetry in them. Here is a transcribed example from today: "Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh Yeah. Is Stephanie your daughter? Yes Epic club mobile Mani. I'm up baby I guess"

I am going to try out a riddle to test how discerning and erudite my cherished followers are: if you were to read the entire Oxford English Dictionary, you would find that there is but a single word that is spelled incorrectly. Can you guess what that word might be?

I didn't catch that Natalie Zemon Davis passed away last week. What an honor it was to meet and learn from her. She was a true role model for any humanist and was so vital that I would have sworn she was immortal. www.nytimes.com/2023/10/23/b...

For those of you into early modern Jewish manuscripts, you are not going to do better than this talk tonight by Professor Elisheva Carlebach, accessible online. Despite the news, Penn continues to thrive as a powerhouse in the study of Jewish culture
