Folks, I'm really proud that when chuds show up in my comments to take a crap on my timeline, by and large your response is... nothing. You are truly living the magic of "don't engage the assholes" and I love that for all of us. And then I block em and they're gone forever. You're great! Thank you.

I'll also be doing a stock signing at @murderbooks.bsky.social in Houston in early January: www.murderbooks.com/martha-wells... This will include all the books they have listed there, including the new Murderbot compilation editions, releasing for the Apple+ TV show airing later in the year.

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1k/month. A year later, nearly half had housing.

They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays.

The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k.

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1,000 a month. A year later, nearly half of participants said they had housing.
Participants in Denver's basic-income program reported having more-secure housing, though results were similar in the trial and control groups.

Everybody assumes reality will prevail; I have my doubts.
Very important points here: there are a lot of friction points to doing mass deportations (and people certainly have the opportunity to create more—you don’t have to willingly participate in this effort)

There's something I need people to understand.

The studio that made this released some numbers. They had to produce 85 minutes of footage to find 15 usable seconds for this ad.

The machine that creates moving images out of nothing has a failure rate of 340:1 and the best 15 seconds... is this.

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance. Each year, the trans community loses too many lives, especially trans women of color, to hate and violence.

More than ever, we must stand by our trans family and support them, hold space for them, and insist the scapegoating and targeting stop.

Now.

Strange days have found us.
While the alternative universe was appearing, i.e. November 5, I was in hospital with a cracked hip after a misstep on the 4th.
They pinned my hip the next day. I was so lucky: I only had a slight crack. The operation appears to have been a success.
