My favorite flower: #ranunculus. It’s so hard to photograph the white ones but I did my best.

I call this color palette “Semi Precious” because I think of two gemstones, amethyst and rose quartz, when I look at it. This version comes from late spring, when the peonies start blooming but the last of the ranunculus are still hanging on.

Most people think of pansies only as landscape plants. But when grown under the right conditions they can produce vase-length stems that are thick and straight. They last for ages in the vase, and their watercolor-like coloration is often the inspiration for an entire color palette.
