Idk I accidentally started to write this like a few days ago and I might as well post it.

I'm no writer but I do think it's fun to have strangers see and respond to even tge most menial and unimpreasive of thjngs

A peaceful year went by and no danger came. The children remained plahing outside and families ate dinner safely.

As the sun rose on a new year, a family approached this bright mind and thankes him, for they had grown attaches to the dog and loved it as their own family.

They had made a bet with the villagers, to pause the ritual for a year. If ruin befalls them the bright mind would have to build a hundred new houses, but if nothing were to happen they are to cease their actions.

Though it has been so long since the threat of wolves, not even yhe elders truly remember what the purpose of this bloodshed was.

That was until a bright mind, someone who has made windmills for the village, came along and questioned the ritual.

The village had gained fences and walls, even dogs of their own to defend, true protection they were blessed with, it had grown to be a lovely town.

Yet with no wolves endangering them, they startes hunting the pets of families, displaying it's gore in the name of protection, of tradition.

To drive them away the people laid out a trap and caught one of the wolves, in their cunning the humans brutalised the wolf to hang it up near the forest, scaring away any packs that came by.

They continued doing this once a year and the villagers relazed in their safety.
