Lots of issues tonight: Cade and Duren looked disengaged. Stewart loses temper: this never turns out well. Holland and Ausar missed a lot of 3’s. Rotation seems chaotic.

And by “this “ - I don’t mean this post, I mean the “dawg” mantra of the players in post-game interviews.

I hope the NBA doesn’t take this and make this a label for the team. It diminishes the skills and talent they have. Yes, they’re tough, resilient, and play hard but Cade is one of the most cerebral players ever.

Getting dominated on both ends from the start by a team that didn’t make 40 wins.

Very cool discussion. Thanks! If O1 watched Flint Basketball, would love it if he would be asked who the best HS player he ever saw was. This was sort of like when Bill Simmons has his Dad on - which are his best podcasts.

I know you said not to overreact to the summer league, but it’s impossible not to get very hopeful after the performance that Holland had.

If they are EV re20 mics at “home” - they resemble them - his might benefit from a preamp that Sweetwater sells specifically for that mic. Or just go with those simpler mics you had today! You’ll figure it out.

Took care of the sound level issue: thanks!

You might want to listen to it on YouTube- Omari’s mic level is so much lower in every show. Enjoyed the discussion though!

I do think that, as an example, Mamdani’s leftist authenticity is a good model for Dems. But California’s environmental laws led to skyrocketing property costs and homelessness and actually killed things like high speed rail and high density housing that would have helped the environment.

Your Substack posts were entertaining and informative. Question for maybe a pod: can the Pistons copy from Ind or OKC? Topics like: could Ivey function like a McConnell - chaotic Improv? What do they have that we don’t? Stretch bigs? What do we have that they don’t?

I thought Sam’s comments about Troy Weaver were … a little unfair to Troy, and I couldn’t stand him as GM. Is the time right for a discussion about the job he did? Get JE III on? With some hindsight, how much blame should Troy have gotten? My take: core vision - good. Deals on margins: awful.

Ah, the song about hot sex. That’s what Peter Garrett said a fan told him.

You and Bryce need to start the “Food (anger) Issues” podcast. I can see the traditional wings thing, but almost every place charges more for fries now.

Is this about the Pistons making the playoffs? Just kidding! Congrats on being at the Mecca for a historic run.

Is the tonal difference lesser or more than it is with guitars? With accordions it’s very subtle, except with maple.

Can he be very buy without being very sell too?

Great article, thank you.

I agree that he did draft the current Core, but aren’t the margins the place where a GM ultimately succeeds or fails? And when it came to the margins, his choices were putrid. Alternatively, Langdon has not made a misstep yet.

When did he hurt his knee? It wasn’t during that fight in Minnesota was it?

I don’t think anyone who watches the team saw this coming earlier this season, except… George Blaha. About 10 games in, he said they were a playoff team. With a lot of emphasis.
