My dad sustained physical and emotional wounds that haunted him every day for the rest of his life. I was fortunate he didn’t end up a homeless addict like many of his peers. He found relief with cannabis and risked his life to self medicate in the rural south during the 70s before moving to LA

After he was discharged, he was put on morphine in the hospital for months while he healed. They never told him he was on morphine, him like countless other veterans were just taken off and kicked to the streets with no consideration for the withdrawals they would experience.

I’m a Dodgers fan who hates the Giants but absolutely loved taking a packed Caltrain to Giants games. Now in Denver, I take the train to Rockies games and only paid $4 for my last Dodger Game. This is the way.

Human rights really are one of few things in life that is truly black and white; you either support human rights or you don't. The minute you make exceptions for certain countries or caveats for bigotry, you no longer believe in human rights.
