I do music.

In no particular order I’m usually posting about music, my kids, the Blackhawks, my C league men’s hockey team.

Verdi’s Requiem may be my favorite piece to perform. It speaks so well from the beginning to the end.

Performance 1 of 4 tonight. Looking forward to closing out this year’s season with this series.

I’ll be playing bass for the Chicago Celebration of Pope Leo XIV this Saturday at Rate Field. I’ll be in the right field bullpen with a small pit orchestra.

Pope Leo won’t be in attendance, but will appear via video feed. I was hoping to meet him and share a baptized beef sandwich. Maybe next time.

I have spent the last week learning four brand new musicals for the Chicago Musical Theatre Festival. Taking place this weekend, April 3-6 at the Chopin Theater, I will be playing guitar and bass for all shows but Queen Bea.

Come out and support new musicals in Chicago. It’s going to be great!

The last time my brother and I did anything together with show choir was 24 years ago. We worked together this weekend in Minneapolis. I conducted the band and he played keys.

We’ve both been doing show choir since high school, but it took 24 years for us to work together again.

My 13 year old shot his first roll of film with a Praktica FX3. This was his first frame in the roll.

He said “I like the glitched out lamp photo”. 😆

I kind of love this picture of me showing a young guitarist our largest and most advanced tuner. Even at 15 years old, he understood how it functioned and how to use it, which is no small feat.

The future of music is in great hands.

I don’t eat sweet food much and I’m not big on baked goods, but these are my “uh oh” food. An “uh oh! I accidentally ate them all” type of thing.

Most of these were for work too. Yes, even Green Day.

Every one of these was for work. The songs I need to learn in a week for some performance get repeated non stop for days.

A Minolta XE-5 added to the film collection. It was my uncle’s camera. Needed a cleaning of the battery contacts and shutters. Works great now!

Comes with a 50mm 1.4 and 70-240 3.5-7.0.

I think this will become the 13 year old’s go to film camera thanks to the auto shutter control.
