Holy shit Chuck! Of all the things you could pick from!
Iowa State University stands to lose 6m and this is just one funding source. Add in USDA and NSF and this is a crisis. But we seem to only worry about the price of hogs, corn, and soybeans. When is this red state going to wake up? Where are #grassley and #ernst when they are needed?
Just in NIH grants, It looks like beautiful Iowa City, home of the U of Iowa, will lose $71m in funding. That's almost $1k per resident. And that's before all the other cuts to SSA, FDA, etc.
Anyone in Iowa City that can offer more insight?
