Tottenham Hotspur. Sweden.
I guess it’s the nature of social media but what I’m seeing is a lot of the two extremes: people using our results under Frank to belittle Ange; or people using recent performances against Frank.

I agree with this and would add that the inverse (maybe not the right word) is possibly also true: if we’re “unsuccessful” it could be a hangover of last season’s struggles.

100%

One of the main frustrations from the Ange faithful last season was the lack of understanding of the impact of being without VdV and Cuti.

So forgive my sense of deja vu when I hear complaints about lack of creativity under Frank when two of our most creative players have long term injuries.

Yes. Definitely. Every year I get more irritated with how early the first party-pooping international break hits. Then we get hit by the even more infuriating 2nd spate in early October 😩

It’s fanciful to think he’ll ever get back to his best but little in football would bring me as much joy as seeing Dele have one more decent season, whoever that is for.

It really was a tough watch 😩

2/2 scored is factored in. Therefore, I begrudgingly concede that Arsenal inflicted the heavier defeat. However, in the context of a striker's heaviest defeat, I’d argue that 4-0 is worse than 5-1. A point strengthened by the fact that Haaland scored City’s goal in that game against Arsenal.

1/2 I recently saw a post that cited Arsenal’s 5-1 victory over City last season as Erling Haaland’s biggest defeat. Being a petty Spurs fan, I instantly felt miffed that our 4-0 thrashing of City (at the Etihad no less) wasn’t given a mention. I realise that when goal difference is tied, goals…

In theory, you’re right. The current law should cover it but the inconsistency in its implementation is crazy.

I guess the trouble with my suggestion is more VAR delays - though it should be quicker to determine if someone is over a line than sufficiently impeding an opponent.

It’s so frustrating.

I don’t like the constant tinkering with the laws of the game but maybe it could work if they stop the attacking team being allowed inside the six-yard box until after the corner has been taken.

Yeah. He’s given up. 😆

I agree, though they are both older than Bergvall and Gray (possibly Tel too)

Ange’s steadfast defence of the club was such an under appreciated quality of his - as was his refusal to take any cheap shots or sideswipes post sacking. It’s part of what cements his status as a Tottenham legend.

But Levy chose option 3…
Piss off both sides of the fan base and watch the “nearly bankrupt” team you defeated in the final make the sort of exciting transfers we could have done 🤨

2.
He waits about a week after we lifted the trophy and then announces the club are parting ways and appointing a new manager. This option would have annoyed a lot of fans, myself included, but by now we’d at least have got used to the idea and be positive about the prospect of new signings and CL.

1.
(My preferred option) He rides the crest of the vibes wave and backs Ange Season 3. This could have been announced the day after the parade. We could now be deep into transfer negotiations and excited about the new season.

We should still be on cloud 9 as Spurs fans. It’s so irritating. The Europa League could have been a lifeline for Levy's relationship with the fans. To my mind he had two choices to capitalise…

I really hope Levy isn’t gonna sack Ange. FFS, it’s the biggest high we’ve had in all his years at the club. It would truly confirm that Levy isn’t prepared to gamble on glory. He’d far rather no trophies and steady 4th-8th league finishes (which is far from guaranteed without Ange).

😂 Deki sounds better too.

Surely 4 goals spread across the games lost by a single goal would only improve our points tally by 6 at most 🤔. That would assume we added 2 goals in 2 different matches (as adding a single goal in 4 games would give us only 4 points more).
