There is a Black woman in our community who was born and raised in PDX and is working with a program that assists people with buying a home. There is also a photo of the 10 day forecast showing that the temperatures will be between 90-100 degrees during the day and 66-70 at night.

Funding update ❤️‍🔥

Continued, WITH YOUR HELP: During last week's heatwave we were able to help 7 adults, 8 kids, 2 dogs, and 2 cats get hotel rooms for 2-3 nights and supplies for one camp. We raised $2114 and have $82.58 left to put towards the upcoming heatwave. Additionally, we raised $25 towards helping a Black parent keep his phone on.

Huge thanks to our wonderful community who helped us help our neighbors get inside. Here is a promised update.

We wanted to give a more complete view of the impact our combined community care has made. 1/13-2/1: total raised $6,864.36 35 humans, 2 cats, and 10 dogs in hotel rooms for two to four nights. 2/4-2/8: total raised. $3,052 31 humans, 1 cat, and 5 dogs in hotel rooms for two to four nights. The remaining $255.48 from the supply drive went towards replacing wet clothes, gas for vehicles and propane to stay warm. 2: Pink & yellow flyer with pink & blue text that reads: Sweaty Butterack Collective Updates. All of you are amazing for your continued support. You have helped us keep some of our most vulnerable neighbors safe during the unbearable cold. We are often told that people are in tears because they are so grateful and relieved. The county did end up opening warming shelters for one night this week. The next six nights the evening temperature is projected to be between 24° and 32°. URGENT: Help Get Our Homeless Neighbors Inside!

The forecast is calling for freezing temperatures and snow… our local cold weather shelters will not be open unless the temp reaches 25°.

29° tonight. The highest don’t allow people to warm up during the day. The county doesn’t care.
Sweaty Buttcrack Collective is in need ofm more funds The county announced that warming shelters will not be opening during the long weekend. Temps are projected to be between 28 - 31 degrees at night and people aren't getting a chance to warm up during the day. The people already in rooms are extremely grateful for all of your generosity. SBC IS RAISING HOTEL FUNDS Temperatures are forecasted to be between 27-32 degrees in the evening for the next 10 days. The county announced there are no plans to open warming shelters at this time. We already have some homeless neighbors asking to get indoors and we'd love for the community to be able to come through for them. Winter Gear Fundraiser

A sweaty 🥵 update: 💖🏩💖

Thanks to a kind and generous community, we have raised $11,442.17 (CA 3107.99 & Venmo 8334.18)

With those funds we were able to get 41 humans (including BIPOC, disabled, elderly, pregnant, children), 14 dogs, and 1 cat set-up in hotels for 2-7 nights depending needs. 1/2

Please help our friend who was just released from the hospital with no supports and told she should not be living outside given her medical needs.

This storm we raised $21,293.23!! & We helped get 96 people, including young children, and over a dozen pets into hotel rooms during the snow and ice. Rooms were booked for 2-5 days and we fulfilled extension requests as we could. There were asks for funds for propane and gas that we also fulfilled for the people preferring to shelterer in their car. RV, or tent. At one point, we shared $150 for supplies to someone doing distro and cooking for 60. This storm we raised $21,293.23!! & We helped get 96 people, including young children, and over a dozen pets into hotel rooms during the snow and ice. Rooms were booked for 2-5 days and we fulfilled extension requests as we could. There were asks for funds for propane and gas that we also fulfilled for the people preferring to shelterer in their car. RV, or tent. At one point, we shared $150 for supplies to someone doing distro and cooking for 60. SBC had two people out doing distro and one person volunteering at Groundscore shelter. We were connected to a lot of folks needing rooms that way. We were also receiving requests from our mutual aid pals, direct requests on our social media, and any requests we found posted of people asking for hotel funds. SBC additionally had people reach out to offer funds and supplies to get warming gear to vulnerable neighbors staying with their belongings. We were able to connect those people with our mutual aid pals braving the dangerous roads to get aid out. Thank you all sooooo much for your kindness, humanness, and support in keeping our vulnerable neighbors safe. We absolutely could not do this without you all. It is incredible to see how much the community will step up to help each other when our governments have turned their backs on people. We truly take care of us.
